Where to start?

When you open your favorite social media apps, you will see them all the time: Digital Nomads. Their lifestyle looks like a dream, traveling and working simultaneously. Who are these people, and how did they become digital nomads? Some of them will try to sell you courses on how to become a nomad yourself, but do you really need that to join this community?
Step 1: Choose a Remote Job
Working remotely starts with finding a remote job. Remember, doing something that you love is more important than just working remotely. Here are 5 jobs that are very popular among the digital nomad community:
Copywriter
Graphic Designer
Web Designer
Online Health Coach
Translator
Think about what you like to do and what gives you energy. Do you enjoy designing things, or are you more into technical stuff? Do you like leading meetings and organizing things, or do you prefer being a creative mind in the background? These are questions that will help you find the right job for you.
Step 2: Gain the Right Skillset
Before offering your services or applying for a job, you need to gain the right skillset. Good news: for many of the above jobs, there is plenty of information online. On YouTube, you'll find many people who make videos with different courses. If a job requires a specific degree, you can also choose to take an official course. Some companies even offer traineeships, where they train you from scratch in exchange for a commitment to stay with them for a few years.
Step 3: Switch to a Remote Job
As soon as you have the skillset (or have started the traineeship), you can begin a job that can be remote as well. Some people start their own businesses as freelancers, while others apply for jobs in companies. In the beginning, most jobs are not remote yet. Building trust with colleagues or customers is very important before you leave for your first trip.
Step 4: Book Your First Trip
When you are all set, you can book your first trip. Congrats, you are a Nomad!
